Error correction level
What this tool does
This tool encodes any text or URL into a scannable QR code, rendered live as you type and ready to download as a PNG image. QR codes are read by pointing a phone camera at them; this one is generated entirely in your browser using the standard QR code algorithm — nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
Example use case
Generate a QR code for a website URL to put on a business card or flyer, encode Wi-Fi details or a plain text message for someone to scan, or create a quick code linking to a document without typing a long URL by hand.
Choosing an error correction level
Error correction lets a QR code still scan correctly even if part of it is damaged, dirty, or partially covered — L recovers about 7% of the code, M about 15%, Q about 25%, and H about 30%. Higher levels make the code more resilient but also denser (more modules) for the same input, so for long text or URLs a lower level keeps the code simpler to scan.
